Itinerary

Day 1Colonial & Modern Lima City Tour

On arrival in Lima, assistance, and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon visit the most important sites of Lima and wrap yourself in its charm and tradition. Visit the impressive historical center and go through the Main Square, The Government Palace, City Hall, The Archbishop’s Palace, and the Cathedral. You will visit the most representative Convent in Lima that displays the largest monumental group of Colonial Art found in America, here you will see and explore the architectural set of religious buildings.

Finally, take a tour through the financial and residential San Isidro district and enjoy an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean from Miraflores, the most touristic district of our city. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation in Lima.

Day 2Lima / Cusco – City Tour & Archaeological Park

At the arranged time transfer from your hotel in Lima to the airport for your flight to Cusco Imperial City. At arrival assistance, and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon, admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of Cusco city, an interesting journey where you will learn about Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), an ancient place of worship to the Sun, God of the Incas where the convent of Santo Domingo was built, gaze the beauty of Cusco city´s Main Square and admire the most representative sculptures and paintings of Cusco´s Art inside the cathedral.

Touring the city suburbs, we will visit the Inca complexes of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, and the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its external walls built with huge stones cut and assembled with stunning precision. Accommodation in Cusco.

Day 3Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas

Visit the Sacred Valley, a picturesque tour where you can see important archaeological remains, landscapes, and village customs.

This tour starts with the first stop at Awanacancha Complex, where you can have the chance to feed Andean Camelids such as llamas and alpacas; you will also meet local people who will show their techniques for weaving in their sites.

The tour will include a visit to the typical Pisaq Market where you can have the chance to shop or buy handicrafts and try the traditional costumes. Enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo Fortress, made up of series of overlapped steps and terraces, built to protect the city from any invasion coming from the jungle through this part of the valley. You’ll have the opportunity to walk the narrow streets of the village and get a first-hand feeling of this military, religious and cultural center of the Inca Empire. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Sacred Valley.

Day 4Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu

Live one of the most fascinating and extraordinary experiences of the world: touring Machu Picchu. The adventure begins by embarking on one of the most beautiful railway routes, go through picturesque Andean landscapes, and enjoy the amazing lush jungle until you arrive at the Aguas Calientes town.

There you´ll take the bus for a 30-minute drive along a zigzagging path leading to the marvelous citadel. Machu Picchu may have been home to Pachacutec, the first Inca emperor, and is now one of the New 7 Wonders of the modern world.

Walkthrough the Citadel’s go passageways and alleys, witness the architectonic greatness of the Inca Empire and Enjoy this unique place in the world. Take free time to enjoy the mystical energy and natural beauty of the site before returning to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Rest of the day at leisure to make activities on your own. Accommodation in Aguas Calientes.

Day 5Machu Picchu / Cusco

Today you can watch the sunrise below the mountains or just have a day at leisure in Aguas Calientes, it is the perfect opportunity to walk around the city, go shopping at the crafts market or visit the thermal baths.

For the rest of the day, we recommend one of the following optional activities (not included in the price):

  • Visit Machu Picchu Citadel for the second time, and if you prefer, do it very early to see the sunrise, one of the most beautiful wonders that nature can offer.
  • For the more adventurous, we recommend going up to Huayna Picchu (unless it is raining) from where you have an impressive view of Machu Picchu and you can appreciate its real size. Walking up to the top of Huayna Picchu mountain takes about 2 ½ hours and can only be done before 1 pm. This is an exciting adventure for those who want to see the contrast between the wild natural vegetation and the carved stone emerging from the ground as a geological miracle.

Return in the afternoon to Aguas Calientes to be transferred to the train station and get back to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Cusco.

Day 6: Cusco / Lima

Transfer from the hotel to the airport to board your flight back to Lima and take your connecting international flight.
