Discover ancient Peru with the Larco Museum

With the firm purpose to announce the way in which the ancient Peruvians lived and looking for ways to stay close to their public, after the measures taken by the government to stop the advance of COVID-19, the Larco Museum makes available for the world its miniseries Discover ancient Perú.

With 15 episodes of a duration no longer than 2 minutes -which are transmitted through the institution’s social networks-, it shows content in archeology, art history, anthropology, religions, and semiotics. All with the objective of not only entertaining but of inviting the public to reflect and connect with the past.

“For some time now we have been thinking about how to reach out to a wider audience the way of discovering ancient Peru that we propose in our museum script. For this reason, we prepare this series whose objective is to transmit a small concept that invites us to reflect and, from there, builds a narrative that allows us to approach with logic and common sense the way in which the ancient Peruvians understood their environment, organized their world and achieved the greatness that we are so proud of”, commented Andrés Álvarez Calderón, executive president of the Larco Museum.

Addressing topics such as Peruvian birds, indigenous societies, Hanan Pacha and Uku Pacha, cats, snakes, among others, this miniseries -which users from all over the world will be able to enjoy from home- is an unmissable piece to know, connect and why not, empathize with the ancient Peruvians, and in this way, understand how they managed to endure with their environment and organize their world to be the cradle of the most important civilizations in the world.

In addition to these videos, the Larco Museum has made available thematic virtual galleries, guest comments, and family activities. All in order that, after each episode, it is reinforced and reflects on what is observed.
